Play-based tutoring for
children aged 2-10

Who we are

We are a creative education project offering specialised tutoring and learning experiences for children in Sydney.

Our work focuses on strengthening children’s cognitive abilities through thoughtfully designed learning experiences that take place in the child’s own environment.

We collaborate with families seeking personalised academic support, those who choose homeschooling, and migrant families who wish to strengthen their children’s home language or access curriculum content adapted to their linguistic and cultural background.

Our approach is grounded in child development and informed by contemporary child-centred learning methodologies.

All programs are carefully designed and aligned with the Australian Curriculum while remaining responsive to each child’s developmental stage, interests and cultural identity.

We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, and of the place we now call Sydney.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise that they hold the memories, traditions, cultures and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Not One Way

to Learn

Children do not learn in a single, standard way.

Research in developmental science and neuroscience shows that each child brings a unique rhythm and way of understanding the world. Standardised classrooms often fit only a few.

At Imaginaria, we design learning experiences that recognise and support diverse ways of thinking, feeling and learning.

Play

Just to Play

Play is one of the most powerful ways children explore the world and develop new ways of thinking and learning. Through play, curiosity grows, ideas take shape and cognitive abilities are strengthened.

At Imaginaria Club, we design thoughtful play-based learning experiences where children explore, experiment and discover alongside educators. These moments of playful learning support children’s development while nurturing imagination, confidence and a joyful relationship with learning.

Art & Making

Through hands-on making, children learn through their bodies, their senses and their imagination. Creating, building and experimenting allows children to understand the world while developing concentration, creativity and problem-solving abilities.

At Imaginaria, artistic and creative experiences are carefully designed so children feel confident, seen and valued as thinkers and makers.

Learning,

Your Way

Children learn best when they feel supported and understood.

We work with child-centred approaches that respect individual rhythms, interests and ways of being.

Shared

Experiences

Workshops, celebrations and shared learning activities encourage collaboration, creativity and meaningful social interaction. When children feel supported, understood and inspired, learning becomes a natural and joyful process.

Our work is grounded in child development and informed by contemporary child-centred educational approaches that respect each child’s rhythm, interests and unique way of learning.

Aesthetic & Digital

Literacy

We approach digital literacy as a cultural and creative practice. Through AI, coding and digital creation, children learn to understand and shape the digital world around them.

Rather than passive use, we focus on agency, expression and critical thinking. Our sessions provide a safe and guided entry point, supporting a healthy and confident relationship with technology from the very beginning.

Imaginaria en español

¡Lengua Viva!

Spanish for children growing between languages.

“She was completely absorbed playing with all the materials”.
— Maria.

“She loved the moment when the characters they had created in their stories came to life using AI. It felt like a creative but safe way to introduce technology”.
— Laura.

“At Imaginaria my kids are truly playing and following their own ideas. I can see the difference every time”.
— Chris.

“Es maravilloso ver a nuestros hijos aprender su idioma jugando, creando y conversando, no sentados en una sala de clases.
Siempre salen entusiasmados porque la pasan bien”.
— Laura.

Thomas.

“Imaginaria is a great match for what my kids learn at school. Caro always brings projects that intrigue them, playing and creating things. We moved to Australia just last year and are so happy to have found this extra support for our little ones”.

Kazerani.

“We were super happy!”

James.

“My son is a bit more confident with reading now. He still needs support, but I can see he understands things more clearly and doesn’t get as frustrated as before. At school they mentioned he’s participating a bit more, which is nice to see.”

Elena.

“We really liked the sessions and the approach, but we did feel the trial could have been a bit more accessible or offer a small discount. It’s a big commitment when you’re just starting. That said, my daughter enjoyed it and we appreciated the care and creativity.”

Daniel.

“It’s been a good experience so far.”

Commitment to

Child Safety

The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority, and we believe that trust and peace of mind are essential for families.

In Australia, the law requires anyone working with children to hold a valid and up-to-date Working With Children Check (WWCC). For us, this is not just a legal requirement, but a fundamental standard that must be met before any contact with children takes place.

For this reason, all our tutors and collaborators hold a valid and up-to-date WWCC before engaging in any activity with children.

Play, Art and

Learning

Educational research shows that play and the arts are central to how children learn and develop. Through creative and playful experiences, children build essential skills in communication, mathematics, science, critical thinking and emotional understanding.

Arts-based experiences value exploration, support creative and flexible thinking, and honour children’s individual rhythms of development. In early childhood, the arts connect naturally with how children learn through action, movement, emotion, symbolism and play, helping children feel secure and confident as they enter formal educational settings with a solid foundation for formal learning.

First Aid &

Safe Practice

Working with young children calls for care, responsibility and thoughtful preparation. Our tutors and collaborators have a solid knowledge of First Aid, which supports calm and appropriate responses in everyday situations, particularly during creative and hands-on activities.

All experiences are carefully planned, with materials chosen for their safety, quality and suitability for young children. We prioritise natural materials and those that reflect real-life experiences, alongside attentive supervision, responsible practice and mandatory insurance coverage, creating safe and nurturing learning environments for children.
